IMPROVE PHYSICAL AVAILABILITY IN PC1250 THROUGH PROPER MAINTANANCE MANAGEMENT IN CUSTOMER XYZ SEPARI

Abstract

Improvement is a continuous effort made to develop and improve services, products and processes. PT XYZ as one of the mining contractors also needs improvement to maintain and develop its business. The Komatsu Excavator PC1250-8 unit requires improvement, because the availability target of the unit has not met the target (85%). The method used is Six Steps of Kaizen combined with Pareto and Fishbone diagrams. Pareto chart to get the priority of the problem to be solved first. Through the Pareto diagram, the priority is obtained in overcoming the breakdown of the front axle component of the Komatsu Excavator PC1250-8. Then the root cause of the problem was searched using a fishbone diagram, it was found several maintenance managements that required repair and refresh of the operators. To solve the root of the problem, the stakeholders discussed, and got some improvement activities. Commitment and good cooperation from all lines to carry out improvement activities are the key to the success of improvement. The results of this improvement can increase the availability of the Komatsu Excavator PC1250 unit from 78% to 85%.
